I leaned in too far this time.

Curiosity got the best of us.

The shadows in your eyes called my name and I listened.

I danced with them every night in my sleep, getting lost in their mystery

They whispered sweet borrowed words into my soul and I was hooked.

Their words like a drug  and I couldn’t get my fix.

I should have seen through them and through you.

Pretty little words on those pretty lips.

I wonder what they taste like now…in the aftermath of your final words.

My lips and hands memorized you, knowing every inch of you.

Can you show them how to forget you now?
